HISTORIC BECK'S MOTOR LODGE IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
The Castro's Landmark Hotel Goes Back to Family Roots; Changes
Imminent
 San Francisco, CA, April 30, 2010 - Beck's Motor Lodge, a 58 room
motel in the center of the Castro, is under new management as of May
1, 2010. Based in San Francisco, Generation Hotels is the new
operating company. Generation Hotels' founder, Brittney Beck, is the
granddaughter to Will Beck who originally built the hotel in 1958. The
Beck's Motor Lodge is the only true hotel located within the Castro
District.
"Running the hotel that my grandfather built is thrilling," said
Brittney. "The Beck's Motor Lodge has always been a part of my life,
and though I never had the opportunity to meet my grandfather, I
know that he would be proud that we are keeping the motel in the
family." Brittney went on to say, "I see many great opportunities with
this property especially in such a vibrant and lively part of San
Francisco. It's wonderful to be part of the Castro community."
Though dynamics have change since Will Beck had his first vision of
the motel, Beck's Motor Lodge has remained a landmark on Market
Street, perfectly positioned between Castro Street and Church Street.
Though within this year there are no plans for renovations, many
operational changes will be occurring - keeping the community's
safety, well-being and spirit at the top of the priority list. This is not
going to be "your grandfather's hotel."
About the Beck's Motor Lodge
Located at 2222 Market Street, Beck's Motor Lodge is located in the
heart of the Castro. True to it's name, Beck's Motor Lodge was built in
true motor lodge fashion with guest room entrances opening to
outdoor corridors which over look the parking units and Market Street.
The sun deck also looks on Market Street which is perfect for soaking
up the sun, or fog, depending on the day in San Francisco. Parking is
free.
